The Lesera Shishi or foo dogs are the stone guardians of Chinese legend and a traditional ornament for many different types of buildings. Sold as a set of 2, one lion is always female and the other male. The female represents yin and symbolically protects those who dwell in the home she stands sentry, while the male represents yang and protects the home or structure itself. Every detail is symbolic from what they are holding to the position of their mouth. If you look closely, the female has a small pup below her paw, while the male has a ball. The puppy represents nature and nurture and the ball represents the world. Each statue is masterfully crafted from magnesium and hand finished in a gorgeous antique bronze.

Notice: There is a right way and a wrong way to display your Fu Dog set (according to feng shui that is – you can display your products anyway you wish). When facing the statues, the female should always be on the left and the male always on the right. You can identify the female by the pup under her paw, whereas the male has a ball under his paw. Everything about the fu dog is symbolic and representative of protection. Rad Fu doggies- the details are cool and the finish/ patina is pretty nice. Cut out one of the head curls and then filled it with cement plus added threaded studs in the feet to set it permanently into the staircase bookends so tweakers dont/ cant steal them.

Pricey but Absolutely Amazing!!! My hubby says, Pretty darn cool!!!

According to the Chinese, these are supposedly dogs and not lions. They are canine, not felines. (Who writes these descriptions!!!! – HIRE ME INSTEAD – lol)

The Foo Dogs are perfect!!! We always receive complements about them. Our guests love them!!!

IMPORTANTLY for Feng Shui, correct placement for Foo Dogs are as follows when you are facing the dogs, the female should be on the left side and the male on the right side. With these particular dogs – the female has a pup under her left paw and the male has a ball under his right paw. Thus, with these Foo Dogs, the female should be on the left and the male on the right.
So dont use the Wayfair picture for placing your Foo DOGS!!!!!
